NEW
1ST TEAM SKIPPER CONFIRMED
Prior
to Saturday's opening game of the 2009/2010 season at Moulton
the club management were pleased to confirm that Nathan Lacey
has become the new First Team Captain.
Lacey
will take over the role from veteran stalwart Steve Hair who
will remain as Heyford Athletic Club Captain, with Paul Farmer
continuing as Reserve Team Skipper.
With
a number of new signings coming to the club over the summer
there were a number of candidates for the role of 1st team skipper,
however current Player of the Year Lacey was the outstanding
candidate and we hope that our decision to appoint Nathan as
Captain will prove the correct one (unlike last season - Mr
Mossy!).
I
am sure that everyone involved at the club will support Nathan
over the coming weeks and months as we look to build a squad
capable of bringing some much needed silverware to the club.
We
would like to place on record our thanks to Steve Hair, who
took the armband (for the second time in his Heyford career)
under difficult circumstances last season and never let the
team down, playing every 1st Team game whilst inspiring team
mates. We still feel that Shair has a lot to offer the club
both on and off the pitch hence we have asked him to remain
as Club Captain - a role which we are delighted he has accepted.
