LATHAN
CONFIRMED AS NEW 1ST TEAM MANAGER
Following
recent news of Paul Smith's intentions to stand down from his
position as Heyford Atletic 1st Team Manager the club have acted
swiftly and are delighted to confirm that ex Roade Manager Stuart
Lathan has been appointed as the new manager of Heyford Athletic
with immediate affect.
Stuarts
first game as manager couldn't be much harder (on paper) as
the team travel to Weldon this weekend to face a side who will
be keen to get back to winning ways following a recent dip in
form.
I
caught up with 'Lath' earlier this week and he has asked me
to release the below:
I
am pleased to have been appointed as the new 1st Team Manager
at Heyford Athletic who are a good football club with excellent
facilities. The seeds have been laid for this club to challenge
at the top of the league so I felt the offer was too good to
turn down and I am really looking forward to the remaining 4
games of this season and also to next season. I would like to
place on record my apologies to Gaz at Blisworth as I had committed
myself to them as a player for the rest of the season however
jobs at clubs like Heyford Athletic dont come around often
and he was very understanding.
The
staff and players at Heyford Athletic have welcomed me with
opened arms and I hope to repay the faith and support they have
given me over the next few years. 2.30pm on Saturday at Weldon
cant come soon enough followed by Harborough Town, Roade
and Queen Eleanor.
Thanks
in advance for your support
Lath
I
am sure that Stuart will be assessing everyone and everything
at the club over the coming weeks and whilst he will be keen
to put his own stamp on things this will take time therefore
I would urge all players to support Lath between now and the
end of the season in order for a foundation to be laid for next
season.
I
know that he is already busy contacting as many of the current
registered players as possible however if you haven't heard
from Stuart please bear with him as I am sure that you can appreciate
this task is time consuming - in the meantime if you would like
to discuss anything with him I am sure he would welcome your
call, his details can be found on the committee page although
please be respectful to his employment situation and try to
call out of office hours!
