As
I am sure most of you are aware the 2008/2009 season was a historic
one for the club, as it was our Centenary season and a number
of successful events were held during the season. I would like
to place on record my thanks to all who were involved in planning
and arranging those events.
On
the field it was a difficult season for the Senior sides but with
a degree of success for the Junior sides with the Under 14s
winning their league.
Regretably
the Sunday side Heyford United were disbanded during the season,
although this season will see us hosting matches for AFC Trinity
mens and ladies teams and we welcome them to Heyford and hope
they enjoy their new home.
With
regards to our own teams, we approach the 2009/2010 season with
renewed optimism and look forward to a better campaign for both
the First team and Reserve team this time around. We are delighted
to have the same management teams in place with the exception
that in the Reserve team we have a reversal of roles with Malc
Wincott taking the managers position with Paul Hesketh assisting
him.
It
is an important season for the Under 17 side under their coach
Chris Peck as we hope that some of team might be introduced into
the Senior sides as the season progresses.
The
other junior sides will still be under the management of Steve
Morgan, Jason Muddiman, Trudy Massey, Howard Marriott and Rick
Wiles.
Committee
wise we have a new vice-chairwoman in Helen Cooper and we look
forward to her contribution over the coming months.
I'd
like to sign off by wishing all our teams all the best for the
2009/2010 season and dont forget we will be showing Sky
Sports at the clubhouse. Pop in for a drink everyone welcome.
I
look forward to seeing you all soon.
